'So Relatable and Humorous'

Artboard 1

I’ve been working on minimalism for a while and have done a lot of downsizing over the last six years. Yet, I have never encountered some of the ideas in your book. I love them and think I will be able to declutter more with your suggestions and strategies. Thanks so much for writing this book!

This book is fabulous. I am looking forward to going through it in detail - my first pass shows so much content and activities for an entire year - bliss :) I have been following Michele for more than a decade and she continues to inspire me with her fun and practical approach to life.

Such a charming and insightful read. I ended up reading the entire book in one sitting. Michele's ability to communicate the introvert plight was so relatable and so humorous that I couldn't put it down.

What a lovely book ... beautifully designed and so much good guidance and information. I've done a quick flip through and am now looking forward to working my way through each weekly focus. Thank you Michele for creating this. Just what I need to get back on track.

This is a truly lovely guide to making life more beautiful and more chic! It's laid out beautifully, and the ideas and steps are actionable and easily fit into a busy life. Michele delves into all aspects of a "Life well lived" from curating your wardrobe to curating your social media. Creating rituals, and removing frustrations from our lives. I love that she introduces a concept, and then she circles back to it later in the year so it's not an overwhelming dive into every single area, but rather small and manageable tasks and ideas to incorporate as you move through the year.

This is a quick but powerful read. Not only does it give tips on clearing out your stuff, but it also reinforces the fact that we all really do deserve the better things in life, and we deserve to enjoy life.

I’ve read many books on poise, dignity, etc, but I really enjoyed this one and would put it as one of my favorites. Michele isn’t lecturing us: She’s walking alongside us giving helpful suggestions, and the fun and quirky sense of humor is a real plus! She also talks about uncomfortable scenarios that we can can relate to but also offers remedies to those situations. Very helpful as I would usually be tempted to skip over those parts as they may hit too close to home. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Highly recommend!

Michele got her minimalistic approach across in this very short book! It was a half-hour read, after which I felt inspired, ready to declutter my life and surroundings, and enjoy true contentment. What a delightful presentation!

'No Matter Your Reason, Buy This Book'

Artboard 1

One of the best books I've read in ages. Such a marvelous sense of humor. Laughing all the way through. I'd be happy to read Ms Connolly's grocery list. She offers a fun approach to the nearly impossible task of letting go that is actually achievable. Thnx!

Perhaps the most insightful and relevant book I've read in ages. Certainly the most helpful. Certain chapters were no less than life changing. "Speak to yourself with kindness, as you would to a sweet child. ... Because there is one inside you, and she is hurting."

'Best Minimalism Book I've Purchased'

Artboard 1

I enjoyed reading How To Be Elegant. It is a quick and easy read. I loved all her tips on being elegant. It’s always good to review and revise manners. I found myself lacking a few of them maybe a little bit more than a few. Michele Connolly has a charming way of writing.

A Chic Year by Michele Connolly is such a refreshing and approachable guide to living more intentionally. What I love most is how it’s structured—one week at a time over the course of a year—making the shifts feel doable and not overwhelming. Instead of trying to overhaul your entire life at once, Michele gently reminds you that small, consistent actions add up to something magical. I love it so much, I’ve decided to share it with a few friends so we can do it together—because the journey feels even more inspiring when shared.

Best minimalism book I've purchased. Her rules really resonated with me and her advice is concise and easy to follow. Being a quick read meant I could get started right away applying the 21 rules. Most clutter/minimalism books get bogged down in excess words and take too much time to implement. I loved this book!
