One Extreme To Another

Craig went to see Extreme in concert last night. So you know what I did? I made a Joan Armatrading playlist on Spotify and staged a concert of my own.

Joan was superb, playing all my favorites – several times over – and nothing from ‘the new album’. What joy to sing along at the top of your voice and not get a tap on the shoulder from security (this has never happened to me).

Her songs are so evocative. All The Way From America. The Weakness In Me. Heaven. Down To Zero. Do you know them? Such heartbreak and longing in the lyrics. In her voice. It left me wistful.

The mood lifted with When I Get It Right, which is pretty much my personal theme song. The sheer perverse exuberance at being a CONSTANT DISAPPOINTMENT made me want to form a mosh pit. I didn’t though, mainly because I don’t know what that is. Instead, I formed a NOSH PIT and served yummy snacks.

What a fabulous concert. It was late when I took to my bed, they say there’s peace in sleep, but I dreamed of love instead.

I hope she tours my house again soon.
